Ecological Surveys
Responsive, accurate and great-value ecological surveys and reporting for projects of all sizes throughout the United Kingdom.
Phase 1 Habitat Surveys
A Phase 1 Habitat Survey involves the mapping of your site in terms of plant species and the limits of each habitat type. Scoping for the presence of protected species is included in a P1HS which can be undertaken year-round. The survey is conducted in accordance with the Joint Nature Conservation Committee’s handbook.
The P1HS collects the information necessary for the production of BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes.
BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes
The Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methods (BREEAM and the Code for Sustainable Homes) are used to assess the environmental performance of both new and existing buildings. Performance credits can for awarded under the ecology category subject to a site visit and report by a Suitably Qualified Ecologist (SQE).
Bat Emergence Surveys
The purpose of these surveys is to record bat species and numbers so that the local planning authority can be satisfied that mitigation measures prescribed to manage bat presence, are appropriate. These surveys can only be undertaken between March and October.
